For our younger students (ages five to six) we offer the Music For Little Mozarts program. Mozart Mouse and Beethoven Bear accompany this innovative piano course that children love! This course focuses on introducing the piano to young children through music and games in a group setting.
Course Description
Music For Little Mozarts, the premier piano education program for children ages 4-6 provides a balance between the discipline necessary for playing the piano and the enjoyment one receives from the process of music making. The course centers on the adventures of Beethoven Bear and Mozart Mouse as they learn about music.
Classes meet one time each week for 45 minutes and will follow the public school shcedule. You will receive a calendar with all class days highlighted. Summer sessions will also be available.
Parent participation is not mandatory, although parents are encouraged to participate in the weekly lessons. Attending and assisting during the first lesson, then once a month after that will provide you with the opportunity to share these experiences with your child. Parents will also receive clear instructions on how to assist with at-home practice.
Expectations for practicing
Practice should be 10 to 15 mintues every day at a specific time with no interference from TV, computer, friends, or other family members. A record of practice time may be kept using the weekly assignment sheet. A reward system for efective practice may also be established. Parents should sit near their child during practice time.
Materials and Tuition
Each student is required to purchase a Music For Little Mozarts Deluxe Starter Kit, not included in the lesson costs. The kit includes two types of items, those used for the entire four book course and those used for the first semester only. Tuition is based on a total of 20 weekly classes and is to be paid monthly.
